Catalytic Strategy
When the Campus Ministry focused its vision in 1992 to give every student
an opportunity to hear about Christ, it had to expand its influence to more than
2000 campuses. So began Catalyticdreaming, designing, and developing less
staff intensive strategies that would still launch new ministries and reach every
college student.
Today, Catalytic has over 700 launched ministries, with another 300 in the pioneering or key contact stage, involving approximately 15,000 students. Metro teams in 23 cities make up a significant percentage of Catalytic ministries, with approximately 6000 students involved on 300 campuses.
In St. Louis, the ministry has developed to the point where Metro director Dan Allen feels like theyre on the down hill slope. Two students joined staff this winter, three more are coming on this summer, plus they have interns with them each year. Their city alone sustains a year after year partnership in the Ukraine. Six years ago, there was just a Linc ministry at Washington University, now there is a citywide movement that regularly sends out new staff and maintains a WSN partnership.
In the future, Catalytic hopes to expand to 1550 ministries by 2007. Catalytic will continue dreaming, designing and developing whatever it takes to reach every student. From a redesigned Freshman Survival Kit to an empowered church partnership strategy, pioneering staff in the Catalytic strategy are reshaping ministry today to reach every student tomorrow.
